We were staying in Las Galeras, a small town that's at the end of the Samana Peninsula. This morning we left for our next stop on the trip: Las Terrenas, another town on the peninsula. However, we weren't able to get to Las Terrenas, because there's only one road out of Las Galeras and it collapsed overnight due to erosion.
Here are some pictures of the collapsed road:
Construction workers, members of the national guard, and policemen came from all over to help fix the road.
The road was filled with dirt and stones by 5pm and we were able to drive across to get to Las Terrenas.
